Your tasks will include:

  • Nursing consultations
  • Emergency and acute work
  • Care and treatment of hospitalized patients
  • Telephone consultations and advice
  • On-call work

A health center with many functions

The Health Center has 14 beds, an outpatient clinic, and an emergency room. In addition, we have our own laboratory and medication distribution for the city's citizens.

  • Are a licensed nurse
  • Have a broad nursing interest
  • Preferably have experience from the emergency room, acute reception, or acute nursing
  • Have IT skills at user level
  • Are flexible and have good collaboration skills
  • Are responsible, efficient, and solution-oriented
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully
  • See opportunities rather than limitations

It is an advantage if you speak both Greenlandic and Danish, but it is not a requirement.

Upernavik

Upernavik is beautifully located on a mountain and is one of the northernmost towns in Greenland. About 3000 inhabitants live here, distributed in Upernavik town and the associated settlements. The town is special with its nine settlements, which means that most of the citizens in the area live in the settlements. In winter, you can, among other things, go dog sledding on the ice, experience the northern lights, and days when the sun does not rise above the horizon. In the summer months, fishing, whale watching, and boat trips are popular. From May to August, you can also experience the midnight sun.

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
