Nurse sought for Christmas and New Year temporary position at IMA Intermediate Monitoring Department (IMA)
Do you want to experience Christmas in Santa Claus's own land? Then come and be a part of our department in Nuuk.
With us, you will care for exciting and complex patients, where you will use all your knowledge and experience – and when you are off, you can experience Christmas markets, northern lights sailing, and cozy evenings with colleagues and roommates.
During a special period over Christmas and New Year, you can become a part of IMA for 3 weeks. This is a completely unique offer! However, you are always welcome to apply for a longer period.
We have a fixed tradition of a joint breakfast between IMA and ITA on December 24th, before we together go out and welcome Santa Claus when he lands in front of the hospital by helicopter.
This is for you who want to try your hand at the intermediate specialty, thrive in new professional challenges, and wish to be part of a good team with a strong working environment with a good reputation and high professionalism.
A place with room for development – and room for you
IMA is a department for patients needing close monitoring and complex care.
It is a department where we work with patients with medical issues including neurology, cardiology, sepsis, mono-organ failure, etc. In addition, we also have surgical patients within orthopedic surgery, parenchymal surgery, or gynecology/obstetrics.
Whether you have no medical experience or have never been exposed to surgical specialties, we lift together and help each other. One thing we can promise – it will not be boring and you will not be alone.
You will receive:
- A role where your nursing experience is highly valued – and we are happy to learn from your experience
- A strong team that works with telemetry monitoring, High Flow oxygen, CPAP, and much more
- Thorough introduction to the department
- Close collaboration with skilled colleagues, including buddy pairing
- Responsibility for 2-3 patients at a time
- A social department with a good atmosphere and high spirits.
We hope you:
- Are eager to try something new
- Are curious about more complex nursing
- Are passionate about good patient care and high patient safety – regardless of diagnosis, weight, and complexity
- Enjoy working in an environment with room for both immersion and acute situations
Nuuk – a capital close to nature
Imagine arriving at a modern hospital department with engaged colleagues – and after work standing in the winter cold with mountains on the horizon, snow in the air, and the northern lights dancing across the sky.
Nuuk is Greenland's capital, and during Christmas time, the city transforms into something special: Advent stars in the windows, snow-covered streets, cozy gatherings, and a unique calm that descends over both the city and the mountains.
Here you will have a working life with meaning and complexity combined with a vibrant city life with cafes, culture, and good colleagues – and nature right outside the door. Mountain hikes in winter light and evenings with Christmas spirit or New Year coziness are a natural part of everyday life.
This is not just a position. It is a daily life with balance, presence, and room for both professionalism and Christmas spirit – in the midst of some of the world's most beautiful winter landscapes.
