Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control is looking for a Digitalization Consultant for IT & International Cooperation

The IT and International Cooperation department in Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control (GFJK) is seeking a proactive, structured, and analytical employee who wants to help drive and further develop the tasks of fisheries control for Greenland's most important industry.

About the job

As a Digitalization Consultant, you will help drive the digital development in GFJK. The position requires good technical skills and a desire to optimize workflows and processes.

The position includes the following main tasks:

  • Optimization and streamlining of workflows.
  • Automation of work processes.
  • Preparation of weekly reports and quota follow-up (quota intake/quota exchange).
  • Ad hoc tasks and contributions to other tasks in the organization

Qualifications

  • Relevant vocational education or documented work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of data processing tools, especially Excel, but experience with databases, SQL, and GIS will be an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of the automation tool Power Automate.
  • Ability to maintain an overview and work in a structured manner
  • Is self-driven and can ensure progress
  • Has a flexible and approachable attitude towards both work and colleagues
  • Administrative experience from public or private companies, including with documentation systems is an advantage.
  • Good analytical and planning skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Danish and English.
  • Knowledge of the Greenlandic language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of practical fishing and equipment technology, etc. will be an advantage.

ABOUT GFJK

Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control (GFJK) is responsible for monitoring, surveillance, and control of Greenlandic fishing, hunting, and trapping. GFJK's main objective is to ensure that the Greenland Self-Government's fishing and hunting legislation is complied with; including the rules issued under bilateral fishing agreements or as a result of Greenland's participation in international organizations. The work is carried out in close cooperation with the Department of Fisheries and Hunting.

GFJK consists of a headquarters in Nuuk and 3 regional offices in Sisimiut, Ilulissat, and Nuuk. There are 17 employees at the headquarters, organized into four departments: IT and International Cooperation, Control, Economics, and HR. The control department includes a control corps consisting of 11 fishery observers, as well as 3 regional offices with a total of 17 fisheries and hunting controllers.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and departure travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
