The Management Secretariat in the Department of Children, Youth, Justice and Gender Equality is looking for a skilled and committed AC officer/communication employee to ensure a high level of daily communication and dissemination of the department's work as well as servicing the top management in the department and Naalakkersusioq.
In the Department of Children, Youth, Justice and Gender Equality, we focus on strengthening the conditions for children, youth, and families and work to realize the political goals in the sector. The tasks in the department include, among other things, the development of strategies and action plans in the areas of children, youth, and disabilities, servicing the political level in the form of notes, reports, etc., as well as various project and development tasks. As a communication employee, you will play a central role in communicating Naalakkersuisut's and the department's initiatives to citizens, partners, and the media.
The position falls under the management secretariat. The management secretariat is an attractive and professional workplace with a high level of ambition. Daily life in the management secretariat is varied and professionally challenging, where things sometimes move quickly and tasks must be solved under time pressure. It is rare for two days to be alike.
The management secretariat handles political servicing; in addition, the management secretariat is responsible for servicing the department's top management and the secretariat function.
About the position
Preparation of press releases, news, and communication materials about Naalakkersuisut's and the department's initiatives and work
Planning and coordination of internal and external communication
Updating and developing content for our part of the website
Preparation of proposals for Naalakkersuisut, background notes, response notes, answering 37 questions, etc.
To lead or assist in studies, evaluations, etc. in the social area.
Contribute to quality assurance of notes, decision proposals, and similar documents.
To coordinate collaboration with the Danish ministry
Facilitator for workshops, seminars, and official visits
Ensure coordination during Inatsisartut sessions in collaboration with the rest of the department
Facilitator for relevant systems used in the department
HR function for the department's employees
Ad hoc tasks
The tasks are diverse and require the ability to collaborate across language and professional boundaries, as well as to take independent responsibility for one's own areas of responsibility and projects. The position requires the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new material and be flexible, as well as to thrive in an organization where small and large tasks intersect in a sometimes busy everyday life.
Therefore, it is an advantage if you are responsible, adaptable, and collaborative. You should be interested in working in a politically governed organization, where the pace is often very high, and deadlines are short. You should be good at communicating, both in writing and verbally, and have the ability to understand complex relationships.
About you
Have a relevant academic education
Have knowledge of the social area
Have experience or knowledge of communication, public dissemination, project management, and process work
Can work independently, structured, and development-oriented
Are skilled at communicating in writing and verbally
Can create an overview of many and complex information
Are good at collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders
Have knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions and culture
It is an advantage if you have good skills in both qualitative and quantitative methods
It is an advantage if you master Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
About the Management Secretariat in the Department of Children, Youth, Justice and Gender Equality
Our department in the Management Secretariat consists of about 6 employees who support the department's top management and contribute to effective operations in close collaboration with the department's other departments. We provide daily service across departments and handle, among other things, translations of tasks.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
