Leisure and Culture in Tasiilaq is seeking a dedicated employee to enhance leisure and association life in Tasiilaq and the villages. The position involves contact and collaboration with associations, advising, grant administration, and activity planning. We are looking for a person who is proactive, visible, and skilled at building relationships.

Would you like to help strengthen leisure and community life in Tasiilaq and the surrounding villages?

Leisure and Culture in Tasiilaq is looking for a dedicated and independent employee who is passionate about collaboration, volunteering, and the development of leisure and sports activities.

The position plays a central role in the work of creating better contact and collaboration between the municipality and the associations in Tasiilaq, Kulusuk, Kuummiut, Isertoq, Tiniteqilaaq, and Sermiligaaq.

We are looking for a person who is proactive, visible, and good at building relationships, and who is eager to actively support the associations' work and development.

The position is flexible and varied and is not a traditional 8–4 job. Working hours will at times be adjusted to activities, events, and collaboration with associations and volunteers.

Work tasks

The position includes, among other things:

  • Establish and maintain contact between the municipality and the associations.
  • Outreach work and ongoing dialogue with associations in Tasiilaq and the villages.
  • Visits to the settlements as a natural part of the work
  • Consultation and sparring with associations
  • Training in requirements and frameworks for running an association
  • Help with applications, budget estimates, and grants
  • Administration of grant schemes according to applicable regulations
  • Follow-up on accounts, documentation, and association information
  • Coordination of leisure education and contact with staff
  • Planning and execution of course and seminar activities
  • Development of volunteering and leisure activities in Tasiilaq and the settlements
  • Administrative tasks, including accounting and payroll reporting
  • Facebook posts and communication about events and activities
  • Sparring with colleagues during Leisure and Culture
  • Various ad hoc tasks

In addition, the employee will be involved in the planning and execution of various events and projects, including, for example:

  • Nuannaffik
  • Children's Day
  • National Day
  • Make May Healthy
  • Tas Factor
  • Sports awards ceremony and Holy Three Kings event
  • The year that went / The year that passed

We expect that you:

  • Speaks Greenlandic
  • Can work independently and take responsibility
  • Is flexible and thrives in a varied workday.
  • Is good at collaborating and building relationships
  • Has an interest in community life, volunteering, and local development.
  • Has administrative skills and can work in a structured manner.
  • Can guide and support associations in administrative and organizational tasks.
  • Danish and/or English is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police as well as the criminal certificate from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing option can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payments in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff accommodation is available. Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
