Child or Social Helper

AKO Miniklub Qinngorput is seeking 2 child or social helpers for full-time positions. The job involves after-school care for children in grades 1-3. We are looking for individuals with educational experience who are open, present, and can plan activities spontaneously. The workplace is active with good colleagues and prioritizes educational work.

SEARCH THIS POSITION Atuareernerup Kingorna "AKO" Miniklub in Qinngorput is seeking 2 childcare or social assistants to start by agreement. The position is a full-time position.

About AKO Miniklub AKO Miniklub is a school care program for children in 1st to 3rd grade after school hours and is designed for 180 children, but currently has 138 children, aged 6 to 9 years. The staff ratio is distributed as follows: leader, deputy, educators, child and social assistants, and helpers including cleaning staff; currently, there are 18 staff members, excluding children who have special needs support personnel.

AKO Miniklub is open from 07:00 to 17:00 and is located next to the school "Atuarfik Hans Lynge" in Qinngorput, the new yellow building.

An employee in the AKO Miniklub is required to participate during the school's teaching, such participation occurs a maximum of 2 times a week and for about 4 hours. The purpose is to improve the child's well-being during the teaching, and it is the task of the AKO employee.

We expect that you:

You are trained as a Child or Social Helper or equivalent.

You are familiar with educational work carried out in accordance with the Inatsiartut law and in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

You have a natural desire to work with children.

You are professionally competent and have a professional approach to your work.

You are open-minded and adaptable.

You are attentive to children, staff, and parents.

You are able to plan activities spontaneously based on the children's interests.

You are active and a good colleague who values a good workplace and actively participates in its development.

You have experience working with children.

You are bilingual (Greenlandic/Danish), but this is not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
