Educational Support Person for Nuuk International School

Nuuk International School is seeking a pedagogical support person for a girl in 5th grade.

We are looking for a committed, structured, and professionally strong support person for a happy and social girl in 5th grade.

The position is for 26 hours a week and primarily involves professional support in the school part. The girl needs an adult who can work purposefully and intensively on her academic development and help strengthen her basic skills.

You will become an important part of the school's community and work closely with both the class teachers and the girl's parents. Your collaboration with children, parents, and colleagues is based on the school's four values: education, ambition, community, and trust.

We are looking for you who:

Sees opportunities and can think creatively in working with academic content. Can create calm, structure, and predictability in everyday life. Can establish clear frameworks while being flexible when needed. Has an eye for the child's academic development and progression. Can prepare half-year reports and work from an action plan. Is committed to close and binding cooperation with parents and educators. Has experience with children with special needs, particularly mild cognitive challenges. Has an educational or teaching background – this is an advantage.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
