KNI is seeking a category manager for the purchasing department, responsible for the development and optimization of assortments in hard non-food. You will work with supplier composition, budgets, and marketing. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills as well as leadership. The workplace is Sisimiut, Greenland.

KNI is looking for a category manager for hard non-food in the purchasing department, to start as soon as possible or by agreement.
KNI's purchasing department at the Service Center deals with purchasing for Pilersuisoq's 64 stores and KNI Wholesale. The purchasing responsibility is handled by 3 category managers divided into food, soft non-food, and hard non-food. Additionally, there are category supporters employed who serve as the link between the category managers, the stores, and suppliers, and are responsible for the many administrative tasks associated with purchasing. There are 14 employees in the department.
As part of the purchasing department, you will report to the Purchasing & Logistics deputy manager.
As a category manager, you will be responsible for:
Develop and optimize locally adapted assortments within the categories: Hard non-food including electronics, capture and fishing, large appliances, and building materials.
Develop and optimize the supplier composition of the categories, as well as enter into agreements on discounts, bonuses, marketing subsidies, and delivery terms.
Prepare and adhere to budgets and other strategic targets.
Develop your own products and ensure insight into customers, competitors, and the market.
Ensure the greatest possible ownership/execution in the stores through involvement.
Ensure the implementation and retention of KNI's values and strategies.
As category manager, your primary tasks will be:
Analyze and adjust assortments
Calculation and pricing
Ensure timely delivery of campaign goods
Follow-up on marketing
Hold annual supplier meetings
Follow-up on concluded supplier agreements
Prepare purchasing budgets by category
Participate in relevant trade fairs
Close dialogue with stores – including regular store visits
