The Elderly Ombudsman's office is looking for a dedicated and independent administrative employee with strong communication skills. The position is remote, and we seek someone fluent in both Greenlandic and Danish, written and spoken. Tasks include conversations with the elderly, preparing notes, and coordinating media contact.

The Elderly Representative's Secretariat is seeking a dedicated and independent administrative employee with strong communication skills, who can start on September 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The position is carried out from your place of residence. The elder spokesperson's institution has good experience with digital work methods and remote work.
We are looking for an employee who is proficient in both Greenlandic and Danish in writing and speaking, has an interest in the conditions of the elderly, and thrives in a daily routine where administrative tasks, communication, and coordination go hand in hand.
Your work tasks
As an administrative employee, you will work with among other things:

Conversations with the elderly and their relatives about challenges and needs as well as guidance and advice.

Preparation of notes based on conversations with the elderly and their relatives.

Follow-up on current cases based on applicable legislation, regulations, and guidelines.

Contact with municipal administrations regarding old-age pensions, referrals to nursing homes, etc.

Preparation of notifications regarding elderly citizens
-
Preparation of official correspondence to municipal administrations, departments, and other authorities.

Preparation of news, press releases, and debate articles
-
Maintenance of the website's content on the conditions of the elderly

Planning of debate-generating activities in collaboration with the Elderly Ombudsman

Preparation of a draft response to the consultation

Coordination of press contact and collaboration with external actors

Coordination of orientation trips

Coordination of external consultants' work
We expect that you:

Has administrative experience and preferably knowledge of legislation or legal issues.

Has good written and verbal communication skills

Can convey complex issues in a clear and understandable way.

Master both Greenlandic and Danish in writing and speech.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment with the Government of Greenland, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of employment.
