Carpentry Instructor for KALAALLIT NUNAANNI TEKNIKKIMIK ILINNIARFIK – Tech College Greenland. Are you a skilled carpenter or joiner, proficient enough in your trade to teach young people and adults at KTI Construction and Civil Engineering in Sisimiut? We are looking for an instructor for our carpentry program who takes pride in well-executed craftsmanship and wishes to pass on their professional pride and expertise to young people and adults. Teaching experience is an advantage but not a requirement. KTI Construction and Civil Engineering is a department of Kalaallit Nunaanni Teknikimik Ilinniarfik (KTI) and presents itself as a modern and resourceful educational institution with all necessary and modern teaching materials and well-equipped workshops. The school is constantly evolving and expanding in line with societal needs and desires. About the position: You will work with other teachers to plan and develop students' educational courses aimed at training skilled and qualified carpenters who meet the demands of businesses. We wish for the employment relationship to begin with a 3-month probation period. About KTI – Vocational School and Gymnasium. KTI is an educational institution with approximately 150 employees, offering vocational education in Nuuk and Sisimiut in the fields of Iron and Metal, Construction and Civil Engineering, Raw Materials, Language Courses, as well as the gymnasium educations GUX, e-GUX, and the North Atlantic gymnasium class, and access courses for engineering and marine engineering education. KTI has an operational collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark - ARCTIC - DTU, on two engineering programs and the Marine Engineering Education Copenhagen on the Marine Engineering program. Housing An unfurnished staff residence can be assigned to the position according to the rules in effect at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have a staff residence or another residence owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the rules in effect at any given time for the assigned residence. The staff residence is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of employment. Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the residence, ownership, etc. There may be a waiting period for the assignment of permanent staff housing, during which temporary accommodation may be provided, including in smaller shared accommodations or hotel apartments, which are subject to taxation. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
