Social educator sought for care, respite, and the Activity Center Utoqqaat Illuat.

We are a round-the-clock institution, and therefore work is done in 3 shifts. The staff at Utoqqaat Illuat have the following qualifications: health assistants, health helpers, nurses, and unskilled workers: assistants and substitutes.

Utoqqaat Illuat is a Care, Respite, and Activity Center with 5 departments and a therapy. The areas are as follows: 2 departments with respite places for 14 users, and 4 care departments with space for 19, 5, 3, and 5 residents respectively. Each area Tungiu, Ippat, Paaqqutaq, and Pillorissaavik is managed by team coordinators. The staff being sought is: 1 educator or person with a similar social professional education.

Tasks:

• Care, support, as well as maintenance and strengthening of already existing competencies
• Fundamental - nursing, care, and treatment of physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually affected residents with dementia in collaboration with the dementia coordinator and dementia assistants and Utoqqaat Illuats other staff.
• Create a framework for a safe and pleasant place to be, where residents are met with care and understanding.
• Execution of daily practical tasks
• We work based on the resident's needs and wishes.
• Interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration around the residents
• Preventive measures for the residents' welfare
• Activation of the residents

Expectations for applicants:

• Is trained as a social educator and is aware of their competencies.
• Has experience in the elderly and activity sector and dementia.
• Have the desire and interest to work with elderly residents / citizens
• Possess good collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
• Has an overview, is flexible, is committed, open, and proactive.
• Service-minded, responsible, and loyal
• To contribute to creating a positive, creative, inspiring, and sustainable environment
• Can write clear and concise documentation in both Greenlandic and Danish.
• Bilingual, Danish and Greenlandic
• Interested in working on new tasks and is curious.
• That you can work day shifts, evening shifts, night shifts, and every other weekend.
• Aware of distinguishing between work life and private life
• Easy to learn new tasks
• Can introduce new staff
• Flexible to assist the team coordinator and other departments as needed.
• Can take on-call duties as well as responsible functions.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
