Instructor

The Maritime School in Paamiut is looking for a skilled and dedicated teacher.

The Maritime Education Center offers high-quality maritime education in Greenland. We are now looking for a new colleague who wishes to contribute to the students' professional development and be an active part of a good collaborative environment.

Work tasks

• Teaching and planning of the teaching.
• Guidance and evaluation of the students.
• Contribute to the development of the education programs in collaboration with the other instructors.
• Participate in projects as well as in the development of the educational institution.

• Relevant education, minimum Fishing Skipper of 3rd degree or Coastal Skipper.
• Experience with teaching is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Good collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work systematically and take responsibility.
• Proficiency in Greenlandic. Knowledge of Danish and English is an advantage.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

Housing

No staff housing is allocated for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the allocated staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
