The position of hospital teacher at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen is available for appointment. The hospital teaching at Rigshospitalet is responsible for educating Greenlandic students of compulsory school age who are hospitalized for shorter or longer periods or are relatives of adults or siblings undergoing treatment at Rigshospitalet.

The Education Agency is seeking a responsible, versatile, and creative teacher for Rigshospitalet, who can manage the teaching and engagement of students across different ages, grade levels, and subjects. The applicant must be a resilient and empathetic person who can accommodate and support students during sometimes difficult life situations. The applicant should be independent and able to engage in close dialogue with the students and their parents, home municipalities, and the Greenlandic patient home. Additionally, the applicant is expected to have close teamwork with the other hospital teachers at Rigshospitalet as well as with other relevant stakeholders, including relevant sections and departments at Rigshospitalet.

The hospital instructor's tasks will mainly include:

  • Teaching in the subjects and subject areas of the folk school according to the students' prerequisites and needs.
  • Initiation of creative and educational activities – including activities outside the classroom.
  • Participation in network meetings and supervision conversations with other hospital educators
  • Collaboration with the Greenlandic patient home and patient coordinators

The ideal applicant:

  • Has a teaching degree and can teach in Greenlandic and Danish as well as other subjects and subject areas in the folk school.
  • Has experience teaching in primary school, preferably with teaching experience of children with special needs and must have an inclusive and student-involving approach in their work.
  • Is professionally ambitious on behalf of the students, structured, responsible, and solution-oriented.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of the folk school in Greenland.
  • Is familiar with the use of IT in teaching.
  • Is well-informed about various new trends in pedagogy and teaching.
  • Is initiative-taking and can work independently, but also has good collaboration skills with other teachers and management.
  • Is flexible, creative, and innovative

The Danish Agency for Education and Quality is a politically governed organization that works both with servicing the ministry and the political level, as well as development and production.

We are a diverse workplace with many different functions, which, in addition to more traditional administrative functions, includes our own publishing house, printing house, and information and lending collections. The agency mainly deals with preschool and primary school, boarding schools, and free schools. We are nearly 50 colleagues who take pride in maintaining a high professional standard in an informal environment.

Salary and employment conditions

The position follows the "Collective Agreement for Teachers, etc. in the Public School and in the Municipality of Copenhagen" and the "Working Time Agreement for Teachers in the Primary Municipal Public School and in the Municipality of Copenhagen."
