The position involves processing periodic budgets, travel orders, and activity-dependent grants. The Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church is seeking a new colleague for the finance department – a new colleague who can ensure good and structured case processing of periodic budgets, travel bookings, and activity-dependent grants, while also further developing and continuously strengthening budget and financial management across the entire education, culture, sports, and church sectors.

Your personal qualifications:

We are seeking someone who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship and approaches tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development.
We would like to see that:

You have a relevant academic, vocational, or higher education, preferably in social sciences, business economics, or resource and financial management.

You have experience from a similar position or from a position within the financial sector.

You have an understanding of bookkeeping, finance, and statistical work.

You have a good knowledge of Greenlandic society and the public system in Greenland.

You have good language skills, preferably Greenlandic and English.

You have the ability to maintain an overview in a complex process.

Case processing of periodic budgets under activity area 40 in the finance act, including ongoing monitoring of consumption patterns in the activity area.

The case processing of, and development work on, activity-dependent grants to the vocational schools.

Travel booking manager in the finance department.

Controlling and financial analysis across the entire education, culture, sports, and church sector.

Provide consultancy assistance to a number of institutions based on the department's internal institutional authority.

Alone or together with others in the team, they conduct institutional visits with the aim of assisting and advising the institution's management in acute situations.

Daily work with bookkeeping in IRIS.

Contribute to the development and optimization of work processes.

For academics; Case processing of political decision proposals.

Communication of departmental instructions and guidelines to subordinate operational units.

Ad-hoc economic, statistical, and accounting tasks.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For the right qualified candidate with several years of experience, employment, after a specific assessment, may be on special consultant terms. If one is already a special consultant with several years of experience, one may, after a specific assessment, be employed on chief consultant terms.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
