The residential unit Seernaq is seeking a cook or nutrition assistant for a full-time position in Nuuk. You will plan and prepare healthy meals for residents with physical and mental disabilities. Collaboration with colleagues and dietary advice is part of the job. The position requires culinary education and experience in meal planning.

The position is a full-time job of 40 hours per week, primarily day and evening shifts.
The residential unit Seernaq is one of our larger residential units in Nuuk. The unit accommodates 19 residents with physical and/or mental disabilities, including developmental disabilities and autism.
Your core task will be to plan and prepare healthy, varied, and nutritious meals for the residents, as well as contribute to positive dining experiences in everyday life. You will, in collaboration with other staff members and the manager, support the residents' well-being and quality of life through diet.
You will also advise on diet, shopping, and menu planning, as well as contribute to ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and in an organized manner. Together with your colleagues, you will help create a safe and well-functioning everyday life for the residents.
You will become part of a staff group of about 19 employees with educational or health-related backgrounds, as well as unskilled workers, where collaboration and interdisciplinary work are an important part of everyday life.
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
Cooking for several days at a time, primarily for one resident.
·Consultation regarding the purchase of food products
Planning varied and healthy menus
·Advice and support to other departments under the Boenheden Seernaq as needed
Collaboration with colleagues on practical tasks in everyday life
We expect that you:
·Has a culinary professional education, e.g. chef or nutrition assistant
·Has experience with kitchen operations and meal planning
Can prepare varied, healthy, and nutritious meals.
Is stable, flexible, and good at collaborating.
·Has an interest in working with citizens in sheltered employment
Can plan ahead while managing changes and unforeseen situations.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight residential units, five living collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support corps located in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/contract in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
