Department Head for Sikkersoq

Sikkersoq Integrated Institution is seeking an educator to commence as department head as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

About Sikkersoq:

Sikkersoq Integrated Institution is located in Nuussuaq and accommodates 64 children, with space for 24 nursery children and 40 kindergarten children.

The staff consists of 15 members, distributed as 3 in each of the 4 rooms, a kitchen assistant, and a leader.

Sikkersoq is open during the day from 07:00 to 17:00.

The department head is an educator in the room and works closely with the leader and deputy leader. The department head acts as deputy leader in their absence or when the deputy leader functions as the leader in the leader's absence. It is a 40-hour workweek with varying hours between 07:00 and 17:00.

The leader, deputy leader, and department head share responsibility for the institution's educational development, parental collaboration, and staff management.

Criminal and Child Record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal and child record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child records. Therefore, we must note that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child record from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child record is obtained by the municipality with the individual's consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Housing:

No staff housing is available for the position.
