MISI-Avannaa is seeking an experienced psychologist to work with children with special needs in Ilulissat. The position offers exciting challenges in a modern city with abundant natural opportunities.

MISI-Avannaa is responsible for educational psychological counseling in Avannaata Kommunia, the world's northernmost municipality. We are based in Ilulissat by Disko Bay and the world-famous ice fjord. MISI Avannaa handles tasks within both the school and daycare sectors throughout Avannaata Kommunia, which is spread across 4 towns and 21 settlements. Ilulissat offers magnificent nature with rich opportunities for hiking, sailing, dog sledding, skiing, hunting, fishing, etc., while also being a modern city with various cultural and leisure activities. Additionally, the job includes business trips by ship, plane, and helicopter to towns and settlements in the municipality. We are looking for a psychologist, preferably licensed, with several years of experience working with children with special needs. The right applicant finds it exciting to work in a system based on Greenlandic language and culture, and: • has knowledge of recent research and educational-psychological theories • has several years of experience working with children with special needs • is dynamic and development-oriented • has knowledge of educational psychological work with children and youth • is resilient and can work independently and flexibly with diverse tasks Employment is according to the agreement of June 28, 2019, between Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat, IMAK for teachers in Greenland's public schools, etc. For applicants who are already civil servants, this form of employment can be continued. Staff housing is provided, for which rent, deposit, etc., are paid according to the prevailing rules. The position is desired to be filled on February 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
