The Veterinary and Food Authority in Greenland is seeking an experienced case handler for the food sector.

About the position:
The Veterinary and Food Authority in Greenland (VFMG) has the overall responsibility for veterinary and food-related tasks throughout Greenland. The authority faces a number of exciting development tasks, including the work of further developing food legislation.
We are therefore looking for a professionally strong and committed employee for our team. We envision that you will contribute solid knowledge and experience in control and supervision in the food sector, while also being eager to actively participate in the ongoing development of the area.
The position is located in Nuuk. You will be involved in daily case processing, control and operational tasks, and be part of the border control team responsible for inspecting fishing vessels from third countries.
Primary areas of responsibility:

Assistance in the preparation of legislation and guidelines for veterinary work in Greenland, including the development and updating of food legislation.

Control, guidance, and case processing in the food sector, including auditing of food businesses and possible participation in meat inspection.

Activities associated with the veterinary border control posts (EU Border Control Posts) in Nuuk and Sisimiut.

Citizen service, e.g. guidance related to food, import and export of animals, etc.
You are a trained veterinarian (cand.med.vet.), an academic with a specialization in food, or have another relevant academic background.

is good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing,

is multilingual. The working languages in the department are primarily Greenlandic and Danish, and to a lesser extent, English. It is a great advantage if you can speak and write Greenlandic.

like to work independently and am good at meeting deadlines,

can have multiple balls in the air at once without losing track,

is able to ask for help and feedback when you need it.

Salary and employment conditions
