The Street Team Nuuk is looking for a health professional to conduct social skills training and bridging work for the most vulnerable and homeless in society. The job involves outreach work and social skills training in Nuuk. We seek a person with a health-related education who can build close relationships and navigate working with vulnerable citizens.
What is the Street Team:
The street team is a holistic organized prevention agency that conducts social skills training and bridging work for the most vulnerable and homeless in a developed system with prevention methods that ensure continuous follow-up on each individual citizen. The effort involves interdisciplinary and other partners.
The street team carries out, among other things: street outreach work in Nuuk at the places where the target group can be found. Social skills training is also conducted in supported living, for a total of 85 people, and supported living in their own homes for the homeless in their new homes.
In their efforts, the Street Team has also become aware of a need to meet citizens in an informal environment with appropriate frameworks and has therefore worked towards creating a space where citizens can come and receive an assessment in Uummateqarfik/ Hjerterummet.
Uummateqarfik / Hjerterummet is open during the day on weekdays for the vulnerable and homeless in society, where citizens, in organized conditions, have the opportunity to contact the Nødherberg staff or, through appointments with the Street Team, gain access to Hjerterummet. Citizens will have the opportunity to access a proper shower, clean change of clothes, a haircut at Salon Uummateqarfik / Salon Hjerterummet, and possibly use the Nødherberg, so that citizens have a bed to sleep in that night if they are homeless and meet the requirements for using the shelter.
Action plans are being created for the citizen, who is given the opportunity to move forward with support, guidance, backing, and follow-up from the Street Team, which is part of a holistic social professional effort for the homeless and socially vulnerable in the Municipality of Sermersooq.
We are looking for you who:
Has a genuine curiosity and interest in our field and, not least, our target audience. You who have an interest in learning from others, reflecting, having patience, are capable of collaboration, and understand the importance of clear communication and understanding in an organizational workplace.
·Is professionally trained in health care
Is good at creating close relationships
Can navigate the work with vulnerable and homeless citizens and is resilient.
·Preferably with a mental first aid certificate but not a requirement
·Preferably with a physical first aid certificate but not a requirement.
·Has knowledge of the big city Nuuk
Is spacious, flexible, and has an overview.
·Has good speaking and writing skills in Greenlandic, Danish, and can navigate in English but it is not a requirement.
Has a systematic approach to their tasks
·Has an understanding of the importance of documenting
·Has an understanding of planning and an interest in always being one step ahead with the planning in citizen follow-up.
Problem-solving oriented
Is open to innovation and further development.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date depends on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
