Cooking Instructor

Pilersitsivik is established under Majoriaq in Aasiaat with the aim of promoting education and employment opportunities for young people aged 15-29 through workshop teaching. The school has up to 40 students, all from Aasiaat. A kitchen instructor is being sought for these students, with employment starting on March 1, 2026.

It is about activity-based teaching, which should be developed in collaboration with the other staff.

You must be able to teach the following subjects:

• Cooking
• Preparation
• Cleaning

The teaching and its function are carried out in close collaboration with the leader and the school's other teachers, and in connection with this, it is a requirement that you must be able to:

• Tours in nature and guiding of students
• Cooperative and happy
• Innovative and full of ideas
• Seeing opportunities
• Has sales abilities
• Understanding towards individuals with special needs and good at providing guidance.
• Effort with goal setting according to applicable frameworks / conversation with nearest students
• A good teacher who can teach students / gives to transfer to students.

We expect:

• That you are trained as a nutrition assistant or similar.
• That you have experience with teaching
• That you are well-versed linguistically, both orally and in writing.
• Having experience from a similar position is not a requirement, however.
• That you are motivated and would like to contribute to the development of the school.
• That you can use a computer
• That you do not abuse either alcohol or other euphoric substances.
• That you can work independently on all tasks.
• That you can keep accounts regarding cooking.
• Has the ability to create firm frameworks and is capable of setting boundaries.
• that you have social skills and good communication with students

Criminal and child certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
