Executive Officer

The Management Secretariat is seeking an executive officer to service and coordinate cases in a busy work environment. The position requires political understanding, administrative skills, and the ability to work under pressure. You will be a central part of the team handling tasks related to housing, client roles, building authority, and infrastructure.

Do you enjoy working on quality assurance of texts, for example from Danish to Greenlandic? Do you like coordinating many tasks among colleagues in a fast-paced environment? Then you are the person we need in the Department's Management Secretariat.

Start date March 1, 2026, or as soon as agreed.

About the position

The Management Secretariat is one of four departments in the ministry, which handles departmental tasks within the areas of housing, client role, building authority, and infrastructure. There are about 45 employees in the ministry. The department consists of 8 employees and is a staff function within the ministry. As an example of the tasks in the department, coordination and processing of inquiries to the ministry and to the Naalakkersuisut, cases to and from the Naalakkersuisut and Inatsisartut, mail, hearings, translations, quality assurance, archiving, project management, and development tasks including workshops, presentations, and on-the-job training of internal instructions, guidelines, work procedures, and manuals, for example regarding case processing, procurement, service, staff events, etc. can be mentioned.

We are looking for a full-time employee who, together with the department's staff and the department's management, can take on a central role in coordinating the department's matters and servicing the Naalakkersuisut, in close collaboration with other employees in the department.

You will be an indispensable colleague in our team. This role requires both political understanding, administrative skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

We expect that you have most of the following qualifications and competencies:

  • That you have a higher education.
  • That you are good at communicating both orally and in writing, are strong in quality assurance, and have an eye for small details.
  • That you master Greenlandic and Danish at a high level in both written and spoken form, and English at least at a conversational level.
  • That you work efficiently, are decisive, and are proactive.
  • That you are good at coordinating, collaborating as well as working independently, and demonstrate flexibility, even in pressured situations.
  • That you are quick to learn, but can also try on your own and learn.
  • That you are welcoming, have good collaboration skills, are diplomatic, and have a good solution-oriented approach.
  • That you are proactive, engaged, stable, adaptable, and can adjust to working in a hierarchical and politically governed organization.
  • That you are happy with structure and system.
  • That you are familiar with Greenlandic culture and society.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
