Utoqqaat illuat Luuvikasik is seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Manager: We are looking for a Kitchen Manager for the elderly home in Narsaq, to start on February 1, 2026, or by further agreement. The elderly home accommodates 20 residents, with seven rooms designated for dementia patients. Luuvikasik consists of three departments: one for care, one for independent living, and one for dementia care, along with a kitchen, laundry/cleaning, and office. Currently, there are approximately 30 employees. Responsibilities include: • Managing the kitchen's budget responsibly in collaboration with the home's management • Preparing nutritious meals for the elderly and disabled in collaboration with the kitchen team • Ensuring proper meal planning and distribution of tasks to kitchen assistants • Creating a positive kitchen environment in collaboration with other care staff • Training unskilled staff on proper meal preparation • Welcoming students and trainees from the municipality • Evaluating kitchen trainees Responsibilities and duties: • Collaborating with the kitchen team in meal preparation • Working alongside kitchen staff during shifts, including evenings and weekends • Planning meals with residents and kitchen staff • Organizing meetings with residents to inform them of upcoming meetings or as needed • Ensuring the kitchen operates healthily and financially responsibly with management • Evaluating all market offerings and being open to negotiations, informing management • Planning work schedules for kitchen staff • Holding meetings with staff and informing management • Participating in recruitment for the kitchen with management • Ordering supplies with management Salary and employment conditions: Salary and employment will be according to the agreement between the Government, the Ministry of Finance, and the Union of Food Industry Workers. Therefore, the start date can only be agreed upon after this is received.
