The Social Agency is seeking a social worker for the Children and Youth area. You will support municipal case processing with advice, guidance, courses, and development of new services. We are looking for an experienced social worker with strong IT skills and knowledge of child welfare methods. You should be flexible, independent, and good at collaboration.
SEARCH THIS POSITION Would you like to support case management in the child and youth sector across the country with advice and guidance, courses, and much more? Then the Social Agency is looking for skilled social workers for the Children and Youth team.
In the Department for Advice to Caseworkers, Child and Youth Area, we work to support municipal case processing across the country. We provide advice and guidance, develop guidelines and tools that can assist caseworkers in their daily work. Additionally, we hold online presentations, courses, and peer training. The tasks are a mix of developing new offerings and materials, as well as being part of the operations with administration and our on-call service, where municipalities can reach out with questions.
At present, we are temporarily supporting Municipality Kujalleq, where several colleagues are directly involved in case processing.
As a social worker in the Child and Youth area, you will be part of a department consisting of four teams: the Child and Youth area, the Foster Care area, Family Group Conferencing, and the Child and Family Center, including a project manager and a department head.
Your tasks will include, among other things:

Advice and guidance for caseworkers and leaders in the child and youth sector

Coordinator and contributor to projects and development tasks, including, among other things, updating and disseminating social professional knowledge and methods.

Planning and conducting peer training as well as professional assistance
We are looking for a professionally strong social worker with experience in case management in the child and youth area, and who may already have experience in teaching others, for example, in connection with training new employees.
In addition, emphasis will be placed on your good IT skills at the user level.

We expect that you:

Is a trained social worker with several years of experience in case management within the children and youth sector, including preparing social assessments and action plans.

Professionally strong in the field of children and youth, and has knowledge of child-related methods and tools.

Has good IT skills and preferably knowledge of Get Organized, otherwise you will of course receive thorough training.

Has in-depth knowledge of the Inatsisartut Act on Support for Children

Has experience with cross-sector collaboration, is a strong coordinator, and good at planning.

Is good at creating and maintaining relationships.

Works systematically, structured, and solution- and development-oriented.

Takes initiative in problem-solving and is good at teaching others.

Is bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish.

Has relevant further education in the field, e.g. supervisor

The Social Authority is an agency under the Ministry of Children and Youth. The Social Authority is divided into the following 5 departments: Paarisa, the Economic Department, the Day and Admission Department, the Department for Advice to Caseworkers, and the Secretariat.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and departure travel and moving of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
