It is not a requirement that you have a legal background, only that you have organizational skills, a willingness to take on new tasks, and a desire to contribute to consolidating and developing the Greenlandic law education.
The responsibility for the law program is placed in the Department of Law. Employees who are anchored in the department are therefore expected to contribute to both the development and administration of the education, as well as research projects related to the education.
There are currently about 70 students enrolled in the rapidly growing law program. Therefore, there is a need for a research assistant for development and administrative tasks in the department. The position is initially full-time, but part-time can be arranged.
As both full-time and part-time employees are expected to be available for the students at Ilisimatusarfik and to engage in collegial collaboration, it is expected that you have or will establish residency in Greenland.

Qualification requirements:

Has a relevant higher education at the master's level.

Has knowledge of Greenland and the Greenlandic society.

Has experience in planning and coordinating logistics for travel.

Has skills in communication and coordination and written production.

Trilingual in Greenlandic, Danish, and English is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Examples of tasks in non-prioritized order:

External and internal communication.

Planning and coordination of course activities, schedule and exam planning.

Development and pilot projects as well as applications for external funding in collaboration with the department head.

The contact with external instructors.

Booking of rooms and other facilities.

Grant applications.

Marketing of the education.

Technology and IT.

Ad hoc tasks related to the preparation of teaching, e.g., printing of materials.

Ilisimatusarfik, the University of Greenland, was established in 1987 and currently offers 13 different programs, including some part-time programs at both diploma and master's levels. The Shared Administration serves the entire university. It is led by the university director. The Shared Administration has departments in Ilimmarfik and Ilinniarfissuaq. The departments work closely with the academic units, but also collaborate with each other. The tasks of the Shared Administration include: study administration, personnel administration, servicing the board and the Academic Council, as well as other service functions for the university's staff and students. The Shared Administration is also responsible for the building operations of Ilimmarfik.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
