Princess Margrethe's Children's Home in Tasiilaq is seeking a department leader for the small group.
Are you passionate about working with people with vulnerable children and young people, and do you want to make a difference? Then you might be just the person we are looking for.
The start date for the positions is: March 15, 2026, or by agreement.
About Princess Margrethe's Children's Home:
Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is located in Tasiilaq on Greenland's east coast and is a residential institution operated by the Self-Government, the Social Agency. The Residential and Admissions Department is responsible for its operation.
Princess Margrethe's Children's Home consists of two children and youth departments, a satellite Nasippi, and the associated daycare Qaaligaaq.
The two departments are normed for nine in the Small group and nine in the Large group, aged 3 to 14 years. They are primarily children from Tasiilaq and surrounding villages. The children may have social and emotional challenges, and they have a great need for care, structure, and stable adult contact.
Nasippi is a round-the-clock department for six adults with physical and mental disabilities, who are partially self-sufficient. There is an attached sheltered workshop, Qaaligaaq, under the disability satellite, where residents have the opportunity to engage in protected and paid employment. In the workshop, social interaction is prioritized, and the users create handicrafts.
Princess Margrethe's children's home has a small house in a deserted village, a boat, a mini hall, and snowmobiles. This provides opportunities to create good activities with and for the children. Tasiilaq is incredibly scenic and invites many wonderful nature experiences, hunting, and fishing year-round. In the town, there is also a hall with a fitness center, a new outdoor football field, a ski slope with a lift, a school with childcare services, a leisure club for older children, daycare centers, and several grocery stores.
