About the Innovation House:
The building is used as an innovation and culture center focusing on tourism, sustainability, leather processing, and support for entrepreneurs.
The Department of Leisure and Culture consists of various departments that you will collaborate with - Departments are: the leisure club Kalaaleq - the community center Taqqissuut - the sports hall - the Youth Culture House - Paamiut asasara part 2 and the Multi Workshop -
You will report to the Department Head for Culture in Paamiut.
Your tasks:
Work tasks as a seamstress:
These tasks are about the practical, craft-based, and creative work in the sewing room:
·Production of Kalaallisuut in high quality and with respect for traditional techniques
·Processing of skins and other materials used in the costumes
Sewing, fitting, and repairing of suits
·Conveying the craft, for example by sharing knowledge about the outfit, the materials, and Greenlandic traditions.
Participation in creative projects and development initiatives where new ideas and designs can be tested.
Contribute to a positive and inspiring work environment in the sewing room.
Tasks as a team leader:
These tasks are related to responsibility, coordination, and development within the team:
Take responsibility for the daily work in the sewing room and ensure that tasks are distributed and executed efficiently.
·Support and guide colleagues in the craft work
·Contribute to the development of the sewing room, including helping to shape the future of Kittat.
·Participate in planning and operations, e.g., some office work, documentation, or coordination of activities.
Collaboration with management and colleagues on change processes and development projects.
·Be a bearer of culture and traditions, leading the work to preserve and pass on the craft.
The position is 40 hours a week.
We are looking for you who:
·Has experience with sewing Kalaallisuut and handling skins
·Has good knowledge of sewing machines
·Has education from the Greenlandic School of Art
·Wants to – or has experience with – being a team leader and taking responsibility
Passionate about Greenlandic culture and traditions
Is independent, stable, and ready to take action – even when it gets challenging.
·Has an understanding of both craftsmanship
·Is cooperative, punctual, and curious about new ideas
·Will be part of an exciting change process where the House is developing
Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
