Department Leader for Service Area Ippiarsuk

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a committed and stable department leader for the nursing home Ippiarsuk in the service area.

The nursing home is inhabited by 33 residents. 10 of the places are reserved for residents with dementia. (In addition, there is also a department with 10 residents for younger disabled individuals, with whom we also share a house and collaborate)

Ippiarsuk also provides a framework for an activity offer for referred home-dwelling citizens.

In total, Ippiarsuk consists of 6 sub-departments. 2 elderly departments, a dementia department, kitchen, laundry/cleaning, administration, and activity center, totaling around 70 employees.

As the department leader for the service area of Ippiarsuk, you will, together with relevant partners in the house, lead the quality assurance of the service area of the nursing home, which is a workplace with many different professional backgrounds and tasks, where one must be adaptable, ensuring that everyone works together for the house. At the same time, it is also the home of the elderly residents, and it is therefore important that you as a leader are visible in the nursing home and lead with good management, empathy, professionalism, and well-being, so they feel comfortable.

We have development work throughout the elderly sector, consisting of leadership development, as well as personal development for all employees. We are looking for:

·Leader with relevant education and/or flair for management and experience in purchasing and inventory administration

·You preferably have practical experience in the elderly sector in general and preferably leadership experience

·As the leader of the service area, you are there for the employees – therefore, we value that you are present

·Can prepare instructions, procedures, and guidelines as needed, which are clear for all employees and ensure training for all employees

·Have good collaboration skills, and a willingness for change, development, and are decisive

·You should be able to think creatively and positively as well as purposefully

·Maintain an overview and coordinate the collaboration between employees, as one must be adaptable and work for the entire house – and have clear objectives that can be realized

·Overview of budget and finances, as well as adhere to a budget

·Be flexible and loyal to the workplace

·Ensure recruitment, hiring, and terminations, ensuring that agreements are adhered to

·Functional descriptions are prepared

·Shift and vacation planning runs optimally

·Archives and systems for each department

·Ensure a good working environment

·Have general knowledge and skills in IT

Criminal Record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
