2 Subject Teachers for Creative Non-Academic Program in Pilersitsivik

Pilersitsivik has several workshops, a woodworking shop, craft equipment, and a kitchen. The use of nature is a big part of Pilersitsivik. For Pilersitsivik, we are looking for colleagues who are creative, independent, and can be outdoors with the youth – for hunting and hiking trips. The youth should learn to utilize nature and gather supplies.

The purpose of Pilersitsivik is:

·An activity offer that is tailored to the conditions for the youth in Sisimiut, Qeqqata Municipality.

·A program that is based on work, structure in daily life, practical experiences, and creativity.

·To support the youth in personal and professional development and maturation. To work constructively and purposefully to improve the individual's opportunities.

·To create a safe and inspiring environment.

Work and Responsibilities:

·To support young people who are stuck in life to be able to enter the workforce or pursue an education.

·To motivate the youth to achieve their goals

·Ensure that there is good well-being at Pilersitsivik, creating cohesion and good collaboration.

·To manage the activation of youth in various workshop trades.

·Planning upcoming activities.

·Plan and participate in hunting and fishing trips as well as hiking trips

·Provide support to the youth and inspire them to a healthy and active lifestyle.

Qualifications:

·That you have experience and preferably an educational pedagogical background in the youth area or a vocational education such as a carpenter.

·That you have experience – privately and professionally – that enables you to "spot" the youth and communicate with them in a friendly, character-strong, and trust-building manner.

·That you are patient, goal-oriented, and results-driven.

·That you have a collaborative and welcoming nature.

·That you have a positive view of humanity.

·You are stable, organized, good at maintaining calm in stressful situations, and have an overview

·You should be able to work independently and be good at juggling many tasks at once

·We would like you to be bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing can be provided, for which payment is made according to applicable rules.

Start date November 15, 2026, or by further agreement.
