By agreement Full-time On-site 15 Oct 2026 Deadline: 05 Nov 2026

Greenland Police is seeking dedicated HR consultants to work with personnel administration, training, and recruitment. The position involves responsibility for administrative processes and collaboration with managers. An informal working environment is offered, with a focus on professionalism and development.

Are you passionate about the HR field, and are you motivated by working with a broad portfolio of tasks within personnel administration, training, and recruitment? Do you want to work with everything from administrative processes and data to onboarding, competency development, and training coordination? Do you thrive with independent responsibility, professional challenges, and close collaboration with leaders and colleagues? Then you might be one of our new colleagues in HR, Greenland's Police.

Start date: By agreement

Your new everyday life
In the HR department of Greenland's Police, we work to ensure professional and effective support for the organization, so leaders and employees can focus as best as possible on the core tasks of the police. Our work contributes to well-being, qualified management decisions, and correct case handling.

The HR department is organized into two sections: HR Administration and Service Time, as well as HR Recruitment and Training. The sections handle different professional areas but collaborate closely to solve the department's overall tasks.

You will primarily be associated with one of the sections but will be employed in the HR department as a whole. This means that depending on the nature of the tasks, the department's needs, and your competencies, you may/will be allocated to other tasks in the other section.

HR Administration & Service Time
In the HR Administration & Service Time section, we handle a wide range of personnel administrative tasks. We support the management of Greenland's Police and play a central role in the daily operations, where quality, correctness, and stability in task resolution are crucial.

We receive daily inquiries via shared mailboxes, phone, and personal contact. The inquiries range from specific administrative questions to more complex personnel cases. A significant part of our work therefore consists of supporting leaders and employees with clear answers, useful solutions, and progress in the cases. This requires that you can navigate different types of inquiries, maintain an overview, and ensure that each individual feels taken seriously and helped forward.

The position also entails a certain decision-making authority. In close dialogue with leaders at various levels, you will have the opportunity to contribute to concrete solutions and ensure professional handling of the tasks.

Your tasks will include:

  • Processing of salary-related tasks and other personnel administrative cases

  • Case handling of maternity leave and leave of absence

  • Service time planning

  • System adjustments in connection with organizational changes

  • Preparation and processing of HR data as well as reporting

  • General HR support for leaders and colleagues with guidance within the HR area

We also emphasize that you are curious about workflows and processes and contribute new perspectives and ideas on how we can develop our workflows and solve tasks even better and more efficiently.

HR Recruitment & Training
In the HR Recruitment and Training section, we handle tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, competency development, and training coordination.

The section is responsible for recruiting both police professional leaders and employees as well as civilian employees across Greenland's Police departments and service locations. We emphasize a professional and coherent recruitment process, where close dialogue with leaders, employees, candidates, and relevant partners – including other police districts and the National Police's HR Department – is crucial.

Additionally, the section coordinates and supports competency development as well as further and continuing education in both the police and civilian areas. We thus contribute to ensuring that the organization has the right competencies to solve the core tasks.

Your tasks will include:

  • Preparation and quality assurance of job postings

  • Administrative coordination and handling of the recruitment process from invitation to interview to salary negotiation and final employment

  • Working with employer branding, as well as planning and executing recruitment campaigns and fairs

  • Planning and coordinating competency development and training activities

  • Budgeting and prioritizing training activities in collaboration with management

  • Preparation and use of HR data within recruitment and training as a basis for decision-making processes

  • General HR support for leaders and colleagues, including guidance within the section's areas of responsibility

The work ranges from recurring operational tasks, where quality, correctness, and timeliness are crucial, to more complex recruitment and training tasks that require independent case handling, investigation of issues, and clarification of options. Therefore, you must be able to work structured while being prepared to find solutions in dialogue with colleagues, leaders, and relevant partners.

General about the position in HR
As an employee in HR, you will be close to the decision-making processes in a politically governed organization with significant societal importance.

You will have independent responsibility for selected tasks and areas, as well as the opportunity to influence how the tasks are solved. We emphasize that everyone takes responsibility for our own cases while also reaching out and helping each other when needed.

We can offer a workplace characterized by:

  • independent and meaningful tasks

  • an informal working environment with high professionalism and room for humor

  • close collaboration across professional areas and sections

  • the opportunity to contribute to the development of HR's workflows and processes

Our new colleague

We envision that you have an administrative education or another relevant background. Experience from public administration and knowledge of personnel administrative tasks or HR processes is an advantage but not a requirement.

It is also an advantage if you have experience with SAP/HR and are a proficient user of Excel and Word. However, the most important thing is that you have a good understanding of systems and can quickly familiarize yourself with new digital solutions, rules, and workflows.

As a person, you are approachable and professional in your contact with both leaders and employees. You can handle different needs and expectations with calmness and clarity, and you are motivated by making a difference through competent and service-oriented support of the organization.

You work structured and have an eye for detail. You are used to handling multiple cases simultaneously and manage to maintain an overview, even when the pace is high. You are motivated to complete tasks, both the routine operational tasks and the more complex cases, where you must investigate practices, look up regulatory frameworks, or gather knowledge to find the right solution.

You thrive with independent responsibility and take ownership of your tasks. At the same time, you understand the value of sharing knowledge and sparring with colleagues, so we together ensure a consistent and professional task resolution. You contribute to a work environment where we help each other and take joint responsibility for ensuring that tasks are completed.

Salary and employment conditions
Currently, there is a larger effort underway to equalize salary and employment conditions for civil servants in Greenland with those for civil servants in Denmark and the Faroe Islands as much as possible. Therefore, changes in conditions may occur from April 1, 2026, onwards.

You will be employed on collective agreement terms according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organization. Alternatively, you will be employed on collective agreement-like terms.

You will be employed full-time corresponding to 40 hours per week, including lunch time.

You will be employed in Nuuk, but since we serve the entire police district in Greenland, travel activity may occur.

An unfurnished staff housing may be assigned to the position, for which you will pay the deposit, rent, and ongoing expenses. The size of the housing depends on the number of people in your household. Since there may be a waiting period for the assignment of staff housing, you will be provided with a furnished temporary housing in the meantime. Accommodation in a hotel may occur for a short period if there is also a waiting period for a temporary housing. No temporary housing will be provided if you are already residing in Nuuk.

Free moving of personal belongings and travel for you and your household will be provided according to the applicable rules at any given time.

It is a prerequisite for employment that you can be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

Greenland's Police has implemented smoke-free and nicotine-free working hours. The smoke-free and nicotine-free working hours apply regardless of where one works.
