Utoqqaat Illuat is looking for a stable, responsible, and service-oriented driver. You will play an important role in the daily lives of the residents and users, ensuring that transportation is carried out safely, calmly, and respectfully.

Utoqqaat Illuat is a round-the-clock institution under Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. We have 3 care departments, respite places, and activity offerings, and we work every day based on the principle of Resident at the center. About the position

As a driver, you will plan and carry out daily driving. You will have close contact with elderly citizens, including citizens with disabilities and wheelchair users. You report to the director and collaborate closely with management, care departments, the activity area, and the janitorial function. The position is full-time.

Job responsibilities

The driver must, among other things:

·Drive residents and users as needed

·Perform transportation tasks for Utoqqaat Illuat

·Ensure safe and secure driving

·Maintain and keep the vehicles clean

·Assist with practical tasks and activities

·Collaborate with the house's departments and staff

·Assist with the move-in and pick-up of new residents

·Plan the driving so that appointments and daily needs are met in a timely and efficient manner

·Ensure weekly interior and exterior cleaning and assist with inspections and maintenance of the vehicles

·Help with snow removal, graveling at the entrance, and other practical tasks as needed

We expect you to

·Have a valid driver's license and drive safely and responsibly

·Be stable, arrive on time, and be able to work independently

·Be able to plan the workday, maintain an overview, and handle changes calmly

·Meet elderly citizens with respect, patience, care, and empathy

·Be able to collaborate and communicate professionally with citizens, relatives, colleagues, and partners

·React and inform management if you observe that a citizen needs help

·Be flexible and willing to solve practical tasks

Experience in the elderly sector, disability sector, or transportation of wheelchair users is an advantage. Greenlandic and Danish language skills are an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
