AKO Miniklub is a childcare offer for children in grades 1 to 3 after school hours and is designed for 180 children aged 6 – 9 years. Currently, we have 16 staff members. The staff is distributed as follows: Leader, Deputy, 4 educators, 5 child and social assistants, 7 helpers including a cleaning lady. In addition, we have 9 trained employees and 5 permanent helpers, with the rest being substitutes.

AKO - School Care is open from 07:00 to 17:00 and is located at Hans Lyngep aqq 12 A in Qinngorput.

You are a trained educator or have a similar education and have a natural desire to work with children. You have a professional approach to your work and are accommodating and adaptable. You are able to listen to the children. You are flexible and able to plan spontaneously based on the children's interests. You are active and a good colleague who values a good workplace and actively contributes to its development.

The AKO arrangement means that AKO employees follow the student's schooling during school hours for the sake of the student's well-being. Additionally, we also receive the upcoming 1st graders in March until they start school in August; we have a good collaboration with Hans Lyngep atuarfia.

We expect that you:

∙Are a trained educator or equivalent

∙Have experience in group leadership

∙Have knowledge of pedagogical work performed in accordance with Inatsisartut law and in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

∙Can contribute to developing and maintaining the annual plan

∙Are professionally competent

∙Are collaborative with children, staff, and parents

∙Are flexible and stable

∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
