About the school:

You will be part of a public school with approximately 1,000 students spread across grades 1-10 and 9 special classes. Atuarfik Inussuk is a new school in growth and development, where we work purposefully with 21st-century skills, project-based learning, teamwork, quality development, and academic strengthening of the students.

We focus on promoting creativity, critical thinking, digital literacy, collaboration, and communication among students. The learning environment should strengthen academic performance, well-being, and support diverse ways of learning – based on each student's needs and motivation.

The school currently has 92 employees divided into four departments: youngest, middle, and oldest grades, as well as the special area. The school's management team consists of a school principal, three vice principals, and four grade leaders.

The position as Social Worker

As a Social Worker, you will play a central role in supporting students' well-being and ensuring close collaboration between school, home, and external partners. You will be an important sparring partner for the school's management, teachers, and pedagogues and help strengthen preventive and interdisciplinary work.

Your primary tasks:

∙Guidance and support for students in vulnerable situations

∙Collaboration with parents, teachers, management, and external agencies such as social services, MISI, etc.

∙Preventive initiatives to strengthen well-being and inclusion

∙Participation in network meetings and interdisciplinary teams

∙Contribute to the school's work with well-being policies and action plans

We expect you to:

∙Be a trained social worker and have experience with children, youth, and families

∙Have knowledge about well-being, child development, and collaboration with vulnerable families

∙Have a recognition-based and solution-focused approach

∙Be good at building trusting relationships

∙Be cooperative, flexible, and clear in your communication

∙Be willing to work in a school environment characterized by development and change

∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Criminal Certificate:

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
