We are looking for an engaged educator for the residential unit Qinngorput in Nuuk. The position is full-time with a focus on supporting residents with mental disabilities and substance abuse in developing their skills and living independently. You will be part of a team of about 20 employees.

We are looking for an engaged and caring pedagogically trained employee for our living unit Qinngorput in Nuuk. The position is a full-time position of 40 hours a week with day shifts.


The living unit Qinngorput is one of our larger living units in Nuuk. In the living unit, there are 21 residents with mental disabilities and substance abuse. The residents have their own apartments and use the living unit's two common apartments to cook and eat together as well as for social interaction. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills so that they can live as independently as possible. You will work with your colleagues to support the residents in living a good and meaningful life as they wish. You will be part of a staff group of about 20 employees who are pedagogically or health professionally trained or unskilled.

Your tasks:

·To work on developing the residents towards a higher degree of independence and increased quality of life, among other things through working with the residents' action plans

·To motivate and support the residents in everyday activities such as a walk, shopping, and doctor visits

·To strengthen the community in the living unit through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents

·You will help develop the living unit's offerings to the residents, as well as maintain and further develop a high health professional level


The tasks in your work are solved in close collaboration with the other employees in the living unit as well as internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Ikaarsaarfik, Queen Ingrid's Hospital, and the prison service.

·If you have experience in psychiatry, it is an advantage, but not a requirement

In this position, you will become part of a larger community. We are a department with eight living units, five housing collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


Employment will be with a 3-month probation period.


Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
