The position involves planning, administration, and execution of inspections of electrical installations, as well as participation in public information on electrical safety. Qualifications include an electrician education and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Electrical Inspectors for the Greenlandic Electricity Authority

The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is seeking 2 electrical inspectors for the Central Electricity and Gas Authority in Nuuk

The tasks are varied. They may include inspection tasks throughout Greenland, case follow-up, or administrative tasks.

You will work independently and as part of a team. During periods, you should expect a fair amount of travel activity.

The Greenlandic Electricity Authority has its headquarters in Nuuk.

The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is a subordinate unit of the Department of Environment, Nature, Energy, and Research and has the status of an independent control body with the overall responsibility for electricity and gas safety in Greenland. In administrative matters, the Greenlandic Electricity Authority refers to the Department of Environment, Nature, Energy, and Research.

The Greenlandic Electricity Authority administers the Landsting Regulation No. 12 of November 3, 1994, on electrical installations, electrical installations, and electrical equipment. The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is responsible for the control and supervision of electrical installations and equipment.
The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is authorized under the Landsting Regulation to establish provisions regarding electrical installations and electrical equipment and is authorized to establish provisions regarding safety and quality management systems for authorized companies or applicants for authorization, including requirements for documentation thereof and for approval thereof.
The Greenlandic Electricity Authority further oversees control and supervision of installations, gas equipment, and authorizations under the Inatsisartut Act on gas installations, gas equipment, and requirements for authorization. The Greenlandic Electricity Authority is authorized under the Inatsisartut Act to establish provisions and update regulations, including the Gas Regulation for Greenland.


Your tasks will include:

  • Planning, administration, and execution of inspection visits around Greenland
  • Organization and execution of inspections of the electricity sector's safety and quality management of inspections (SKS-A and SKS-D).
  • Contributing to the production of the electricity authority's publications and participating in efforts to inform the public about electrical safety.
  • Participating in the work with statistics and analysis of electrical fires and accidents in the Greenlandic Electricity Authority's Nordic and international engagement.
  • Coordinating informative work, including spreading knowledge of applicable regulations, their background, and provisions regarding electrical equipment. Also, assisting in drafting any amendments to the applicable regulations.



Your qualifications:

  • You have an education as an electrician and have at least 5 years of experience.
  • Additionally, you are an electrical installer/engineer/machine master and can obtain electrical authorization.
  • You have experience in working with technical reports.
  • You are independent in both demeanor and work, you have an overview and possess good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • You are outgoing and good at collaborating, and you have a flair for servicing many different types of customers.
  • Preferably multilingual – Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
  • Knowledge of F-gas installations is an advantage.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and departure travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
