The Self-Government's Interpreting Office is looking for an interpreter.

About the position
The Interpretation Office handles all interpreting and translation tasks, including simultaneous interpreting in the Self-Government's central administration. The translations are usually from Danish to Greenlandic and vice versa, such as draft bills, government proposals, larger reports, materials for Inatsisartut meetings, as well as incoming and outgoing mail from the departments/agencies.
Additionally, internal quality control is performed on all tasks.
Depending on the individual's competencies, translations from English to Greenlandic may also occur, and simultaneous interpreting to and from Greenlandic at meetings, conferences, etc.
The Interpretation Office has implemented a digital translator system, which leads to a new organization of the interpreters' work. A technical and quality assurance team has been established, as well as a translator/simultaneous interpreting team, and it is for the latter team that the position is advertised.

Possibility for decentralized employment:
There is a possibility for decentralized employment if one lives outside Nuuk. This form of employment requires a special agreement on decentralized work and local equipment."

We expect you to
Be trained as an interpreter, have good collaboration skills even in pressured situations.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment terms, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
