Consultant for the Office of Fishing Licenses and ESU, Department of Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture, and Self-Sufficiency

The Fisheries Department, the Department of Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture and Self-Sufficiency is seeking a consultant for the Office of Fisheries Licenses and ESU who will assist in issuing coastal licenses, dispensations, quota trading, quota flexibility and collaborating with municipalities on license issuance.

The department's main goal is to promote the development of the fishing and hunting industries, as well as veterinary conditions in accordance with overarching political objectives. Additionally, the management of the rules adopted by the Inatsisartut and Naalakkersuisut within the areas.

The Office of Fisheries Licenses and ESU is a subdivision of the Fisheries Department, where there is close collaboration across departments as well as with the department for legal, economic planning and Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control. As a consultant, you will assist your colleagues in coordinating this collaboration closely with the office manager. About the position

A consultant is sought for the Office of Fisheries Licenses and ESU, whose main tasks will consist of issuing fishing licenses, processing quota trades and collaborating with municipalities regarding coastal fishing. You will, together with your colleagues, perform these tasks and coordinate the work with guidelines, instructions and standard letters. Furthermore, based on the fisheries law, there are several new tasks that are under implementation, including IT development and efficiency improvements. There is thus a good opportunity for professional development and responsibility.

Tasks:

• Issuance of coastal licenses
• Execution of quota trades and quota flexibility for fishing with Individual Transferable Quotas
• Processing of dispensation applications
• Processing of mortgage deeds in connection with the purchase and sale of quota shares
• Collaboration with and training of municipalities regarding license issuance.
• Assisting fishermen and citizen inquiries regarding fishing and license issuance
• Assisting the Fisheries Department with updating application forms, sullisivik.gl etc.
• Processing cases in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Participation in the implementation of general administrative guidelines, procedures and quality requirements in the Department
• Implementation of the fisheries law and associated regulations in the coastal area
• Collaboration with GFJK, the legal department and the Fisheries Department on the development of fisheries and legislation
• Coordinate the updating of guidelines, instructions and standard letters in the department in collaboration with colleagues,
• Translations and proofreading
• Ad hoc tasks

Qualification requirements:
A versatile candidate with a relevant education and experience is sought. Additionally, among others, the following qualifications:

• You speak and write Greenlandic and Danish
• Proactive and ready to take responsibility for task resolution and development thereof
• Professional experience within all or parts of the Department's and Self-Government's areas of responsibility
• Professional experience within administrative tasks,
• Experience with communication and collaboration across organizations
• Experience with citizen service and guidance
• Good collaboration skills, extroversion and flexibility
• Stability and good humor

The place of employment is the Department of Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture and Self-Sufficiency in Nuuk. The position is desired to be filled as soon as possible or by further agreement for the right profile.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right verifiable competencies, employment may occur as a special consultant, chief consultant or senior advisor in accordance with the applicable collective agreement

Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
