Qasigiannguit - The nursing home is looking for a department head for the department for more active residents

The Municipality of Qeqertalik Qasigiannguit Qeersaat Illuat is looking for a department head for a section with elderly residents who can take care of themselves, with employment starting on October 1 or after further agreement.

The position is 40 hours per week and with a rotating on-call arrangement. There are 20 residents in the nursing home where there are 10 residents in this section. There are a total of 10 staff in the section.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the nursing home management is informed and kept updated regarding all relevant matters concerning the department.
• Ensure that solutions are proposed for issues arising in the department.
• Continuously inform the nursing home management about contact with residents in the department and their closest relatives, especially concerning the residents' well-being.
• Be responsible for ensuring that each individual employee's competencies in the department are developed and utilized in the best possible way.
• Responsible for meetings and plans held with employees in the department and contribute to developing the department and ensure that feedback from the nursing home management is communicated to the employees in the department.
• Responsible for issues related to care, nursing, and activities in the department and ensure that these are addressed as quickly as possible in collaboration with the nursing home management.
• Ad hoc tasks
• On-call arrangement

Qualifications:

• Health professional education.
• Possibly theoretical management education or experience.
• Experience from work in the elderly or disability sector.
• Possibly management experience.
• Good collaboration skills

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the currently applicable negotiating union.

No housing can be provided for the position.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. These will be obtained by the hiring authority with the employee's written consent, after which the hiring authority will request these from the National Police.

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
