Qasigiannguit - The Elderly Home is looking for 2 Health Assistants

Municipality of Qeqertalik Qasigiannguit is looking for a health assistant for the elderly home Qeersaat Illuat with permanent employment from October 1, 2026 or by agreement. The position is 40 hours per week, with changing shifts and shifts every other weekend. There are 20 residents in the elderly home with 10 residents in each department.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

·Ensure that the residents' psychological and social needs are met

·Actively participate in the daily tasks in the department, including hygiene and care for residents, etc.

·Guide and support unskilled staff

·Participate in maintaining the elderly home's goals and house rules

·Maintain good understanding between residents and staff as well as relatives, to preserve a good atmosphere

·Perform various ad hoc tasks

·Home care shifts

Applicant's qualifications:

·Trained health assistant.

·Responsible

·Flexibility and good humor

·Good interdisciplinary collaboration skills

·Desire and interest in the elderly sector

·Contribute to the development of care

·Be a practical supervisor for students

·Contribute to creating a positive, creative, inspiring, and developing environment

·Create good contact between residents and relatives

·Home care arrangement

Salary - employment:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization at the time of commencement.

No housing can be provided.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
