We are looking for a department nurse for the health center in Qeqertarsuaq. You will lead a multidisciplinary staff group and focus on patient safety and working environment. The position involves responsibility for daily operations and nursing, as well as recruitment and retention of employees.

We also continuously focus on patient safety and strengthening continuity in patient pathways, which requires stability in employment.

You will have close cooperation with the department nurses throughout the Disko region, as we focus on collaborating across the region.

The management structure is flat, and there is a visible management that will be a sparring partner along with the other department leaders, the operations manager, and the chief regional doctor.

As a department nurse, you are

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the entire house
  • Responsible for planning and executing nursing
  • Co-responsible for ensuring targeted patient pathways
  • Co-responsible for recruiting and retaining employees
  • In collaboration with the staff group, responsible for a good work environment
  • Responsible for duty schedules and vacation plans

When Qeqertarsuaq Health Center becomes your future workplace

  • You will be involved in clinical work, and the working hours are daily between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM; in addition, the nurses share on-call duties from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM in a fixed rotation and weekend duty every 3 weeks. Approximately 10 on-call duties are assigned per month.

Qeqertarsuaq

Qeqertarsuaq is located in the Disko Region in Northwest Greenland. The healthcare system consists of the hospital in Aasiaat, the health centers in Qasigiannguit and Qeqertarsuaq, the nursing station in Kangaatsiaq, and village health clinics in the 8 villages. In Aasiaat town, there are about 3000 inhabitants, about 800 inhabitants in Qeqertarsuaq, and about 7000 inhabitants in the entire region.

The Disko Region is located north of the Arctic Circle, which means we have both midnight sun in the summer and polar night in the winter. The area has been inhabited for many generations, which there are fine traces of around the region. The nature is characterized by the sea, the archipelago, the mountains, sea ice, and icebergs. There are good opportunities to visit the other larger towns in the region.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic healthcare system at any time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Supplement for relevant further education, such as diploma, academy, or master's degree, may be granted based on a specific assessment.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
