Rambøll Greenland A/S is looking for a managing director with solid management experience and a technical background. You will be responsible for the company's finances and strategy, as well as leading a multidisciplinary team. The position requires the ability to build relationships and drive the business forward.
Are you an experienced and business-oriented leader who can set direction, develop the business, and create strong relationships? Then you have the opportunity to lead Ramboll Greenland.
As the managing director, you will have overall responsibility for Ramboll Greenland and will lead the continued development of the business and the organization. You will play a central role in strengthening Ramboll's position in Greenland and creating the foundation for continued growth, high professionalism, and an organization in development. You will also become part of Ramboll's global organization in construction and will have close collaboration with colleagues in Denmark and across Ramboll's other business areas.
The job
As the managing director, you will have overall responsibility for finance and strategy for Ramboll Greenland. The company is interdisciplinary and consists of about 20 colleagues, with a good mix of experienced and less experienced engineers, building constructors, and project managers. You will lead an interdisciplinary organization where professionalism and collaboration are an important part of everyday life.
The tasks range widely from construction and infrastructure to energy, environment, and socio-economic analyses and are solved in close collaboration with clients and partners.
Ramboll Greenland works with, among other things:
Housing
Public construction, including hospitals, schools, and other public institutions
Industry and production facilities
Water and energy supply
Infrastructure, including ports, airports, roads, and land development
Raw material projects
Environment, climate, and planning
Socio-economic analyses and studies
Defense-related and dual-use infrastructure
Ramboll Greenland A/S has offices in Nuuk, Sisimiut, and Ilulissat.
Your workplace will primarily be at the headquarters in Nuuk, and you will regularly visit our offices in Sisimiut and Ilulissat.
The role is both strategic and operational. You will be part of the daily business and have an active role in contact with clients and partners. At the same time, you are a present leader who involves employees and creates a good framework for collaboration and development.
Your areas of responsibility will include the following:
Set the strategic direction for Ramboll Greenland A/S based on Ramboll's overall strategy and translate the business plan into concrete goals and actions.
Have overall responsibility for finance in the company.
Lead, develop, and motivate an interdisciplinary team and ensure well-being, collaboration, and high professional quality in task resolution.
Ensure effective resource planning across projects, competencies, and locations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders in Greenland.
Drive proactive sales in close collaboration with the organization.
Ensure quality in proposal work, contract management, and commercial decisions.
Leverage Ramboll's broad competencies in relevant projects.
Ensure good onboarding of new employees and contribute to the continuous development of the organization.
Lead Ramboll's market board for Greenland and ensure close collaboration across business areas, so relevant competencies and solutions are utilized.
As the Managing Director, you will have close collaboration with the board of Ramboll A/S.
About you
We envision that you have solid leadership experience and a relevant technical background from the construction and civil engineering sector, the consulting industry, or another technically oriented company. You have a strong business understanding and thrive in a role where you have overall responsibility and are an active part of everyday life.
You have a good network and understand the value of relationships built over many years. You naturally navigate across businesses, organizations, and public actors and are able to create trust and good collaborations.
It is important that you have experience working in Greenland and have a good knowledge of Greenlandic society, culture, and business. You understand the significance of local relationships and can interact naturally among clients, partners, and other actors. If you speak Greenlandic, we see it as an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
Additionally, we envision that you:
Have an engineering or other relevant technical background.
Have several years of experience in a leadership role and preferably experience from the construction and civil engineering sector, the consulting industry, or related fields.
Are motivated by creating results through people and can balance strategic direction with present leadership.
Are outgoing, engaged, and solution-oriented and thrive in a daily routine with responsibility, variation, and close client contact.
Are eager to share your knowledge, develop others, and actively contribute to a strong professional community.
