Qeqqata Municipality is looking for an engaged and visible leader for a parental leave substitute position as daycare center manager in Maniitsoq.

As a daycare center manager, you will have overall responsibility for the daycare sector in Maniitsoq and the surrounding villages. You will be a central part of the work to ensure quality, development, and good conditions for the children in the daycare offerings.

About the position

The daycare center manager is organizationally placed under the Education area and works closely with the education manager and other leaders in the municipality.

You will be responsible for a total of 7 daycare centers distributed across Maniitsoq city and 3 villages as well as a social consultant.

This gives you an exciting and versatile leadership position, where you will work with daily operations, personnel management, finance, development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Your most important tasks

As a daycare center manager, your tasks will include:

• Personnel management, employee development, and administration
• Ensuring good and clear leadership of the daycare centers
• Pedagogical and administrative supervision of the daycare centers
• Follow-up on budgets, accounts, and financial management
• Budgeting and financial prioritization within the daycare sector
• Supervision of the daycare centers' buildings and follow-up on maintenance needs
• Ensuring the development of pedagogical practice and quality in the daycare centers
• Ensuring good transitions from daycare to school in collaboration with the schools
• Supporting good cooperation between the daycare centers and the children's homes
• Ensuring follow-up on children's development and the mandatory screening tools
• Ongoing case processing and administration
• Preparation of cases, reports, and information for management and political committees
• Coordination and collaboration across the municipality's professional areas
• Ensuring good contact and knowledge sharing between the daycare centers in Maniitsoq and the villages

You will have an important role in the development of the children's area

Qeqqata Municipality wants a daycare center manager who can help translate political goals and decisions into practice.

You should help set direction for the good childhood and contribute to ensuring that children experience safe, developing, and inclusive daycare offerings.

An important part of the job is also to be an active player in the interdisciplinary collaboration around children and families.

• Are engaged in pedagogical development and employees' professional learning
• Are flexible and solution-oriented
• Have good communication and collaboration skills
• Can create good relationships with both employees, parents, and partners
