We are looking for new colleagues for the operation of the waste incineration plant in Nuuk. The position is full-time with varying working hours, where you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant as well as the handling of combustible waste.

In Nuuk, we are looking for new colleagues who are ready to help ensure that combustible waste is handled in an environmentally correct manner at the city's new incineration plant.

The job is a full-time position, where you, together with your colleagues, ensure that there is always staffing at the plant. The working hours will be rotating, and you should expect that there will also be evening and weekend work.

Working hours: Rotating shift schedule in the period 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (including weekends)

Work tasks will include:

  • operating and maintaining the plant according to regulations

  • controlling the crane and ensuring the receipt and mixing of combustible waste

  • operating the incineration plant from the control room via computers and video surveillance

  • performing ongoing and preventive maintenance of the plant and associated systems

  • solving ad-hoc tasks, including cleaning and tidying up

As a person, you are:

  • reliable – arrives as agreed for your shifts

  • responsible – takes responsibility for solving your tasks

  • good at collaborating and being part of a team

A driver's license for a car, as well as a forklift certificate, is an advantage but not a requirement.

A professional background as a blacksmith, machinist, or electrician is a plus.

Salary and employment conditions:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week (may vary due to changing shift schedules)

  • Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the collective agreement with Greenland's Business and

SIK Service and Transport. Possibility for supplements based on qualifications.

  • There will be a training period before you join the shift schedule.

ESANI is a municipal waste company that operates two brand new waste incineration plants in Nuuk and Sisimiut. The plants receive combustible waste from most of Greenland and ensure that waste is handled in an environmentally responsible manner for the benefit of both people and the environment. The heat from the incineration is used for heating buildings connected to the city's district heating network.
