Narsaq Municipality is seeking a skilled social worker for the disability area, starting on October 1, 2026. The position involves case management and collaboration with citizens with disabilities, as well as the development of the area. Social Worker for the Disability Area in Narsaq

Kujalleq Municipality is seeking 1 skilled, committed, and resilient social worker or caseworker for the disability area in Narsaq, with relevant social professional education starting on October 1, 2026 or by further agreement.


The disability area in Kujalleq Municipality has been under significant pressure for an extended period, which has meant that the Naalakkersuisut has temporarily taken over the management of the area.

In this context, the Administration for Children and Persons with Disabilities has been established, and work has commenced to significantly strengthen the areas we are responsible for, with the aim of ensuring the legal security and well-being of affected citizens. As a caseworker, you will play a crucial role in the work in the disability area.


Since the department is not large, you will need to work with both children & youth as well as adults, including citizens who, due to their disabilities, are placed outside their homes, therefore it is a wide range with daily challenges where you, as a professional, will also have ample opportunity to develop professionally.


We expect that you:

  • Have an educational background as a Bachelor Social Worker or other relevant education.
  • Have experience with holistic case management
  • Have good collaboration skills and can work interdisciplinary internally - externally
  • Have experience with administrative tasks
  • Have good communication and dissemination skills to citizens that are based on mastering their own lives


The content of the position includes:

  • Ensuring case management in the disability area according to applicable legislation
  • Preparation of assessments, action plans, and applications for support
  • To follow up that the allocated support is adjusted according to the citizen's current needs
  • Co-create and actively participate for good collaboration and development in the department


The Social Administration offers among other things:

The disability area is under development, which is why the right applicant has the opportunity for influence - responsibility and development, where one can particularly help shape and form, and this happens in close collaboration with the nearest supervisor and good colleagues in the area.

The working hours are 40 hours a week, a social duty arrangement can be expected to be attached to the arrangement.


Child Certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate - criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has obtained the certificate. The certificate will be included in the municipality's assessment of who should be employed in the position.


Salary - and employment conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and Atorfillit Kattuffiat for Social Workers and caseworkers employed under Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities.


Staff housing can be made available, for which rent etc. is paid according to applicable rules. Likewise, free relocation travel and moving of belongings are provided - and after at least 3 years of employment - termination and moving of belongings according to applicable rules.
