Educational Leader for Higher Education at Greenland Business School

Are you a leader who is motivated by making education work – every day?

At Niuernermik Ilinniarfik / Greenland Business School (GBS), we are looking for an educational leader who can ensure a strong daily operation of our higher education programs and create the best conditions for teachers and students.

As an educational leader, you will be part of a school in development, where ambitions are high, decision-making paths are short, and where we believe that the best education is created when everyday life functions well. Therefore, we are looking for a leader who can create structure, coherence, and quality in daily operations while also contributing to the continued development of the programs.

The position is desired to be filled by November 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About Greenland Business School

Greenland Business School is an educational institution under the Government of Greenland that offers vocational and practice-based education at several levels.

Our programs are developed in close collaboration with businesses, organizations, and public workplaces, so that students acquire competencies that can be applied directly in Greenlandic practice.

We work purposefully to create the best conditions for teaching, learning, and well-being through high professionalism, clear organization, and close collaboration across the organization.

Your role as an educational leader

As an educational leader, you are responsible for the daily operation of the higher education programs. You ensure that teaching, exams, study processes, and resource planning are interconnected, and that daily coordination works across teachers, study staff, and management.

You are the immediate supervisor for the teachers and are responsible for daily personnel management, prioritization of tasks, and follow-up on operations. Your most important task is to create the conditions that enable teachers to succeed and provide students with a coherent educational experience of high quality.

You will be part of the school's management and collaborate closely with the head of education, the rest of the management team, and the study staff. At the same time, you contribute to the continued development of the programs in close collaboration with the head of education and the rest of the management team.

Your primary areas of responsibility

You will be responsible for, among other things:

  • the daily management and coordination of the higher education programs
  • planning of teaching, exams, and resource allocation
  • personnel management and daily sparring with the teachers
  • ensuring that study regulations, announcements, and internal procedures are followed
  • follow-up on evaluations, study environment, and quality work
  • collaboration with study staff, businesses, partners, and relevant authorities
  • translating decisions and strategic goals into a well-functioning daily practice
  • contributing to the development of programs and new educational offerings in collaboration with the head of education and the rest of the management team

We envision that you...

have a relevant higher education and experience from the education sector, management, or an area where coordination, organization, and responsibility for people have been a significant part of your work.

We particularly emphasize that you:

  • are motivated to create structure, coherence, and quality in daily operations
  • can prioritize, create direction, and make decisions in a day with many simultaneous tasks
  • thrive on planning, coordinating, and following up, so tasks are completed, and agreements are fulfilled
  • have experience with personnel management or other management with responsibility for people
  • work systematically and maintain an overview – even when everyday life is busy
  • have an understanding of higher education and the demands placed on quality, administration, and authority tasks
  • naturally collaborate across disciplines and contribute to a strong work environment
  • master both Greenlandic and Danish and can navigate confidently in a multilingual and multicultural work environment

We offer

We offer a versatile leadership position with significant influence on the daily operations of Greenland Business School's higher education programs.

You will be part of a school with high ambitions, engaged employees, and close collaboration with the Greenlandic labor market. With us, you have the opportunity to create the conditions and structure that enable both teachers and students to succeed while contributing to the continued development of the programs.

You will be part of a management team where sparring, collaboration, and shared responsibility are a natural part of everyday life.
