The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled full-time officer for the Pension area under Social Services. The position involves processing applications related to early retirement and old-age pensions. There is a focus on collaboration, citizen service, and development within a team of 8 caseworkers.
Full-time Employee for the Pension Area
The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated full-time employee for the Pension Area under Social Services, starting on October 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Pension Team currently has 8 caseworkers who ensure that case processing within the disability pension and old-age pension areas always occurs in accordance with applicable legislation and based on a concrete assessment of each citizen's needs.
The Pension Team is part of Social Services, which has many cross-cutting tasks and therefore collaborates broadly with many partners both internally in the municipality and with external partners.
Social Services currently consists of approximately 30 employees in Nuuk distributed across 5 teams – Pensions and Housing Benefits, Social Services, Homelessness, and Quality Assurance.
The position, which is a full-time position, reports to the department head in the Pension Team.
Content of the Position:
The content of the position generally involves case processing of incoming applications, and thus must be part of our pension team and handle a number of tasks including:
·Citizen service with advice and guidance to citizens regarding pension matters. We are a team that processes different types of applications, including handling and processing personal, telephone, and written inquiries.
·Case processing of various inquiries and applications regarding disability pensions and old-age pensions according to applicable laws, regulations, circulars, and announcements.
·Ad hoc tasks.
·Tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of Social Services, as well as our colleagues in the elderly sector, as well as external partners.
In addition, we expect and emphasize that you:
·Are office-trained, academy-trained, a social worker, or equivalent.
·Have experience with case processing in the area and have a flair for IT (GetOrganized and AX prism).
·Are development-oriented and provide good citizen service.
·Are cooperative and good at working with others.
·Are positive and welcoming.
·Are stable, quality-conscious, and have an eye for detail.
·Work independently and are responsible.
·Can handle various tasks simultaneously and work structured to prioritize them.
·Are flexible regarding ongoing changes in the distribution of tasks.
·Can maintain an overview and work structured, even when the workday is busy.
·Are good at collaborating broadly with different partners.
·Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
·Communicate clearly and distinctly, both in writing and verbally.

Criminal Record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
