Nuuk International School is looking for a support person for a girl in 6th grade

We are looking for a present, committed, and caring support person for a girl in 6th grade starting on October 1, 2026.

The position is 40 hours weekly and primarily involves support in social contexts, but also in relation to structure and well-being in everyday life. The girl keeps up academically, and you will therefore need to support her in navigating the social community and the school's daily routines.

You will become an important part of the school's community and work closely with both the class teachers and the girl's parents.

We are looking for you who:

·Are patient, appreciative, and attentive to the child's needs

·Can create security and structure in everyday life

·Have a desire to support a child in building social skills and relationships

·Can work independently while also engaging in close teamwork

·Have experience with children with special needs

·Are good at communicating and collaborating with both parents and colleagues

·Have an educational or teaching background – it is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
