The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated Event and Project Coordinator for the Leisure and Culture Department.
Do you want to create some of the largest cultural and leisure events in the Municipality of Sermersooq?
We are looking for a committed and independent Event and Project Coordinator who can plan, coordinate, and execute events that bring citizens together across the municipality. You will be a central part of the Culture and Leisure Department, where you will have a significant influence on the development and execution of the municipality's many events.
We are a department with 10 dedicated employees who work with culture, leisure, community life, art, festivals, and development projects. Among our tasks are, among others, the Suialaa Arts Festival, the Cultural Backpack Allunnguaq, grant schemes, leisure education, and a wide range of citizen-oriented events. In addition, the department is responsible for a number of cultural and leisure institutions.
You will be part of a department that works to develop cultural life and strengthen communities through art, culture, and leisure activities throughout the municipality.

Job Content:
We are looking for an – preferably experienced – Event and Project Coordinator to join the department and handle a number of tasks including:
·National Day
·Christmas Tree Lighting
·Aasarpalaaq Festival
·Inaugurations, anniversaries, and other cultural events
In addition, your tasks will include:
·Close coordination and collaboration with the Management Secretariat on planning and execution of larger municipal events, where the role and responsibility distribution is agreed for each event
·Planning, execution, and evaluation of events, which often also take place in the evening and on weekends, so this must be anticipated
·Project management and coordination of larger events
·Budgeting and financial follow-up
·Collaboration with associations, cultural actors, volunteers, suppliers, and other partners
·Contributing to the development of the municipality's cultural projects and festivals, including the Suialaa Arts Festival
·Collaboration with artists, cultural institutions, and volunteers
·Coordination of logistics, safety, and practical execution
·Contributing to the development of new events and initiatives in the cultural and leisure sector
·Ad hoc tasks
The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the Culture and Leisure Department as well as the municipality's other departments, associations, cultural actors, volunteers, artists, and external partners.
We expect you to:
·Have a relevant education in event, culture, administration, project management, communication, or similar – or have acquired equivalent competencies through experience
·Have experience in planning, coordinating, and executing events, projects, or larger activities
·Have experience in collaboration across organizations, authorities, associations, or external partners
·Have good planning and project management skills and can create structure and overview
·Have experience in budgeting and financial follow-up
·Be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
·Have knowledge of the culture, leisure, or event sector is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period
Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
