Do you want to combine social work with structure, coordination, and administrative tasks?
We are looking for a committed and independent social worker who thrives in contact with people and at the same time has an eye for quality, documentation, and efficient workflows.
As a social worker, you will help make a difference for Greenlandic patients undergoing treatment and assessment in Denmark.
The Greenlandic Patient Home constitutes a temporary home for referred patients from Greenland. Some of the patients have never been to Denmark before, and your support is needed to assist with their stay.
An important part of the social effort is to support, help, and guide the patients in mastering everyday life and the specific challenges they experience during their stay in Denmark.
You will be in close and trusting collaboration with the patients and relevant partners, focusing on developing and/or maintaining a functional level, independence, and integrity while minimizing issues.
You, along with your colleagues in the social team, must ensure that the patients are met respectfully, professionally, and holistically. At the same time, you will play an important role in ensuring that documentation, agreements, and internal processes are handled correctly and timely.
You will be part of a house with various interdisciplinary partners, consisting of service staff, administrative employees, nurses, health assistants, physiotherapists, various departments in hospitals, the healthcare system in Greenland, and the municipalities in Greenland.
The framework for the position
The position is for 32-37 hours/week with a start as soon as possible or on October 1. It is expected that you can have weekend duty every 4 weeks. Evening work may occur (and rarely night). You report to the professional leader.
We are therefore looking for a new colleague who:
- Has a social or pedagogical education, although this is not a requirement. It could also be a bachelor's degree in culture and society
- Has an interest in and knowledge of social work tasks – preferably experience with addiction treatment
- Has good administrative skills and works systematically, accurately, and responsibly
- Has knowledge and love for Greenlandic culture
- Can work with complex issues and understands how to work supportively
- Has good digital skills and experience with relevant IT, journal, and documentation systems, preferably with knowledge of Cosmic (training will take place)
- Meets citizens and partners with respect, empathy, and clarity
- Possesses conflict-de-escalation communication skills and values a safe working environment
- Thrives in an environment where we expect adaptability and that you contribute to good solutions• Can speak Danish and Greenlandic
Specific tasks in the job:
- Support, guide, and help patients to be in a Danish context
- Guide and support patients in handling contact with the public, using digital platforms such as NemID, email, etc.
- Administrative tasks in the professional system Cosmic
- Daily coordination and logistics, e.g., transportation coordination, room coordination, and hotel reservations
- Miscellaneous administrative tasks
- Indicate and clarify the opportunities that exist within the Danish Cancer Society
- Clarify opportunities at DGP and in Denmark
- Contribute to the development of procedures, templates, and workflows
- Interpret from Greenlandic to Danish and vice versa when colleagues need this in dialogue with patients

Salary and employment
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
