Doctors or specialists sought for 2027 for the Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq

Do you dream of a daily life with great professional breadth, independent responsibility, and unique nature experiences right outside your door?

The Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq is looking for specialists and doctors with good clinical experience for temporary positions throughout 2027.

We offer flexible temporary positions of varying duration with the possibility of starting from January 2027 and ongoing throughout the rest of the year. Here you will have the opportunity to work broadly clinically, get close to the patients, and become an important part of an engaged interdisciplinary team in South Greenland.

A different medical everyday life

The Regional Hospital in Qaqortoq is the regional hospital for South Greenland. Qaqortoq has about 3,000 inhabitants and is surrounded by some of Greenland's most beautiful natural areas.

As a doctor with us, you will have a daily life where you both work independently and as part of a close interdisciplinary team. You will meet patients of all ages and with issues from many different medical and surgical specialties.

The position gives you the opportunity to apply and develop your clinical skills in a daily life where decisions are often made close to the patient, and where flexibility, collaboration, and professionalism are crucial.

Your tasks

Your primary work takes place in the outpatient clinic, which in many ways resembles a Danish general practice. In addition, you will be part of the on-call duty and handle both acute and admitted patients.

Your tasks will include:

  • General medical consultations in the outpatient clinic
  • Receiving and treating acute patients and emergency room work
  • Ward rounds in the inpatient department and nursing home
  • Telemedicine assessment and treatment of patients in the region
  • Referral and possible evacuation of patients to Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk
  • Collaboration with the health centers in Narsaq and Nanortalik
  • Possible visits to Narsaq, Nanortalik, and the region's settlements as needed

The Regional Hospital has 21 beds and is organized with an outpatient clinic and an inpatient department.

You will generally work from 08:00 to 16:00 and also participate in on-call duty with typically 2-3 night shifts per week.

During your shift, you are responsible for the admitted patients as well as acute inquiries. You work independently but have the opportunity for close professional sparring with specialists and backup at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk.

We are looking for you who

  • Has Danish authorization as a doctor
  • Has completed KBU or has relevant specialist training
  • Is eager for broad clinical work and thrives on independent decisions
  • Is curious about new professional and cultural challenges
  • Values interdisciplinary collaboration and professional sparring
  • Is flexible and can maintain an overview in a varied daily life
  • Wants to become part of a strong collegial community

Experience in general medicine, emergency medicine, or other broad clinical practice is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you are eager to work broadly and take responsibility.

We offer

  • An exciting and versatile doctor job with great professional breadth
  • Opportunity to maintain and develop your clinical skills
  • A high degree of independence combined with the opportunity for professional sparring
  • Close collaboration with experienced colleagues and specialists at Queen Ingrid's Hospital
  • A strong interdisciplinary work environment focused on community and quality
  • A workplace in the midst of some of Greenland's most beautiful natural areas
  • Opportunities for unique experiences both during and outside of working hours
