No educational qualifications in pedagogy are required. The most important thing is that you are stable, responsible, and eager to work with children in close collaboration with colleagues and parents.

About Maligiaq

Integrated Institution Maligiaq is located close to the swimming pool Malik and has good opportunities for walks, accommodating 96 children spread over six rooms: 36 nursery children aged 0–2½ years in three rooms with 12 children in each room and 60 kindergarten children aged 2½–6 years in three rooms with 20 children in each room.

In addition to the leader, the institution is staffed with three employees in each room, where the deputy manager is included in the staffing, as well as employees for kitchen and cleaning. The institution is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00.

Your tasks

As an employee, you will be an important part of the children's everyday life. Your tasks will include:

·Actively participate in play, activities, and trips

·Provide children with care, presence, and security

·Support the children's well-being, development, and independence

·Assist with daily routines, including meals, wardrobe, putting to bed, personal care, and hygiene

·Be attentive to each child's needs and development

·Collaborate respectfully with parents and colleagues

·Participate in staff meetings and joint planning

·Receive and follow professional guidance from the institution's trained staff and management

We expect you to

·Be stable and arrive on time

·Be caring, patient, and present

·Have a desire to work with children

·Be able to take responsibility and follow the institution's agreements and guidelines

·Be flexible and able to collaborate with different people

·Contribute positively to the work community

·Be open to training, guidance, and professional development

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with children, but it is not a requirement. Educational qualifications in pedagogy are also not a requirement.

It is an advantage if you can communicate in Greenlandic and Danish, but this is not a requirement.

Employment conditions

There are three full-time positions available with start as soon as possible or by further agreement.

Salary and employment conditions will be determined according to the applicable collective agreement. There will generally be a three-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the positions.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be with a three-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
